JD Rich (Jared Earl Richardson), is a composer/songwriter, producer, and keyboardist from Victoria, BC, currently based in Vancouver. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music. JD Rich writes original music and arrangements that combine influences of modern dance music, 70s/80s funk, jazz fusion, and the melodic sensibilities of movie & video game themes. His live shows range in scope from solo/duo performances to a high-energy full band with multiple vocalists and a horn section - and everything in between.

In addition to performing his own music, JD Rich has been involved in jazz and classical ensembles as a pianist, including: the Jaelem Bhate Jazz Orchestra, West Coast Big Band, Symphony 21, The Horn Factory, Meridiem Wind Orchestra, Greater Victoria Youth Orchestra, and University of Victoria Jazz Orchestra. In Vancouver, he has performed at Guilt & Company, Tyrant Studios, Frankie’s Jazz Club, 2nd Floor Gastown, St. Andrews-Wesley United Church, and The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts. In Victoria, he has performed at Hermann’s Jazz Club, Alix Goolden Performance Hall, and Farquhar Auditorium.

Under his full name Jared Earl Richardson, he composes music for orchestra, big band, and film scores. Jared’s works have been performed/recorded by the Victoria Symphony, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and the Hollywood Studio Symphony.
